General info

Based at the International Airport of Antwerp, BAFA was created in 1999 out of the Ben-Air School, with 20 years of experience in training private and professional pilots.Approved by the Belgian Civil Aviation Authority , BAFA and Sabena Flight Academy started a close co-operation for advanced twin engine IFR training. BAFA provides infrastructure and a multi-engine Seneca V airplane for the Belgian part of SFA's flihgt traing course, BAFA uses the Boeing B 737 simulator for its MCC course.The Staff comprises more than 15 ground and more than 20 flight instructors, full-time and free-lance, which guarantees a continous update of the real environment



Activities & Products

BAFA is approved by the Belgian Civil Aviation Authority as an official FTO according to the JAR-FCL regulations . Following courses can be dispended- Integrated ATPL course abb initio (airline transportation pilot )- Modular Theoretical Knowledge ATPL course - Modular Training IFR (PPL/CPL)- Modular Training CPL- Training and refresher FI (Flight Instructor course) - MEP (Multi Engine Piston) Class Rating course- Modular Training PPL (Private Pilot License) - Training MCC/CRM (Multi-Crew Co-Operation) on Boeing 737-200 simulator in co-operation with Sabena Flight Academy)BAFA is highly innovative in modern teaching projects, including E-teaching.BAFA is a member of the Lilielthal consortium, in partnership with KLM Vliegschool, Lufthansa Fliegerschule, Institut Lermoz, Swiss Horizon and EPAG. Sponsored by the E.U., the objective is the development of a computer based distance learning programme. As a first result, the Virtual Pilot School, approved by the BCAA, is to be mentioned, creating the possibility of following the theoretical part of the PPL at home.
