General info

Metris designs, develops and markets world-class solutions for optical metrology including downstream applications such as full part to CAD inspection and reverse engineering. Metris has acquired Krypton Metrology and MetricVision in April 2005.

Activities & Products

MetricVision Laser Radar for large scale metrology. Laser radar is the only solution for automated, non-contact measurement of large-volume applications up to 60 meter radius. Precision measurement of large-scale items without requiring photogrammetry dots, laser tracker retroreflectors or probes. Applications range from inspection and in-process control of aircraft and spacecraft components to assembly and inspection of large vehicle parts and molds. Krypton K-series MCMM (Mobile Coordinate Measurement Machine) Allow cost effective solutions for on-site Dimensional Quality Control. K400,K500, K600 and K610 are Mobile Coordinate Measurement Machines, designed for use on the shop floor. K600 and K610 enable inspection of large parts, due to their 17 m3 measurement volume. K610 has a volumetric accuracy of 70µm + 25µm/m up to 5 meters. Srong points are ease of use,the dynamic referencing (allowing measurements on non-stable parts), the high productivity and the excellent price/accuracy/measurement volume ratio. Krypton K-series DMM (Dynamic Measurement Machine)Used to analyze motions of kinematic structures on test benches in general. A multitude of 3D points and 6DOF frames can be measured on moving structures. Static and dynamic deformation and torsion measurements on large structures are standard applications for this technology. Three 3D points can be measured up to 1000Hz.Strong points are the ease of use, the contactless measurement eliminating all cumbersome support structures and the possibility to synchronize and integrate all measurements with the existing overall data acquisition system. Krypton K-series RoboticsThe Krypton K-series are world leader for the performance testing and calibration of robots. All major robot, car and airplane manufacturers worldwide use the Krypton technology for their robots.
